Fusion Club (Y5&Y6)
What is Fusion? Fusion is a new club that will replace our current New Life Club. It is a pilot scheme and joint venture between Boys Brigade and Girls Brigade (I have been running this in Bisley School since October 2019). BB and GB are providing the materials for the themes and BB will hold the database of attendance, for insurance purposes, whilst the pilot is running – but you will not be contacted by them. The scheme is being run in only 2 other schools in the Country (or indeed the World!!).
Why the Change? For a while we have felt that we needed to update New Life Club (NLC). This scheme offers new materials and ideas which we believe the children will enjoy, whilst continuing to explore faith through the Bible and School Values. How will the change affect us? It won’t really! The club will run on a Tuesday after school. The main difference from before will be that we will combine the year groups so that the club will run every week (no more confusion about which years should be attending!) If it’s a BB / GB venture will there be a uniform? NO!!! This is a club that, whilst being sponsored by BB and GB, is based in school and run by your local church Children and Families Leader. The children will be given a metal pin badge with the Fusion logo on which they can wear, but there will definitely not be BB or GB uniform, jumper or anything else.
What happens at the end of the Pilot? We will continue to run the club. If the pilot proves to be successful – which I honestly believe it will - then the club will run with continued backing from BB and GB. If not then we will still run the club, but will use our own materials and ideas (as we do currently with NLC) and I don’t expect the children will notice the difference.
If you have any queries about the club please contact Bronwen Hall – bwecandf@gmail.com or call the Parish Office on 01483 473377. This club will be starting after February half term.
